Update Regarding CM Punk Attending Raw

CM Punk has been hot news since walking out on WWE just over a month ago. Speculation, about CM Punk’s status within the company has been well documented, even Vince McMahon is reportedly very keen on bringing back the former WWE champion. This Monday Night Raw, comes from CM Punks hometown Chicago, which since Punk’s departure has worried WWE management since the crowd hijacking at the Royal Rumble. We have reported here on Wrestling News Depot, that fans are planning to hijack the show, first on Facebook then followed up by a Twitter campaign. So will the Second City Saint return to Raw this week? If he does it would quite possibly be the most incredible returns of all time. PWInsiderElite has reported some updates to how CM Punk is feeling and the general opinion backstage whether CM Punk will be at Raw next week.

Last weekend CM Punk made his first public appearance at the UFC 170 event, sitting front row with UFC president Dana White. PWInsider are reporting that people who managed to speak to Punk last weekend in Las Vegas noted that CM Punk appeared very non-committal about his status with WWE. He apparently came across that his time with WWE was very much in the past and he was ready to move on. At last week’s Raw in Green Bay, the general backstage feeling is suggesting that they aren’t expecting CM Punk to return this week nor anytime soon.

Whilst this update isn’t really that much of a surprise, CM Punk is definitely feeling burned out and is very upset with the creative direction, not to mention the use of part-time stars to garner ratings. His contract is up in July and will very likely wait till that expires. As a fan of Punk, I would personally like to see him back in WWE, however I can understand how Punk is reported to be feeling and wouldn’t be surprised if CM Punk didn’t come back.

This week’s Raw however shall be very interesting, the crowd will be rather vocal to say the least, and no doubt show their support for CM Punk. The #HijackRaw twitter campaign is gaining momentum, with @ChicagoRAWcrowd currently having 4321 followers. Raw will certainly be a must watch show, with or without CM Punk.
